If you want a simple blog type site this option will be fine for many but just as with a Wordpress.com hosted site, you have to move the site to your own hosting provider if you need to do anything beyond the basics. Currently there is no e-commerce support and no third party drupal add-ons are allowed. Another possible drawback is the lack of management features to support multiple sites.
